Great Boutique Hotel
I booked this hotel because of its proximity to Tropicana Field and fell in love with the surrounding area. The hotel itself is an older building but the lobby and rooms are decorated with a modern look and feel. Some people may dislike this hotel for the following reasons, but I think it made it unique. What do I mean? Well you get an actual brass key to your room - none of those plastic credit card looking things. The door locks and doors are old - it reminded me of my grandparents house back in Queens, NY. Speaking of old - the sinks and light fixtures in the bathroom are all older but work perectly. There is even a pull cord light above the sink in the bathroom. Dont get me wrong, the rooms are not old - flat screen TV on the wall, modern (and very comfortable) bedding and desk are in the room. Its the little things that made this place very unique. I live in Orlando and this was my first visit to downtown St Petersburg, needless to say I will definitely be back. The hotel is a block from the water and walking distance to The Pier. There are tons of restaurants and bars in a 3 block range. I did not eat at Ceviche which is in the hotel, but heard very good things from the locals. If you are going to a Rays game there is a free shuttle that takes you to and from Tropicana Field a block away. All in all a great hotel in a great city.

Not impressed
This hotel is still in the process of being renovated and should stay closed until finished. It is definitely not a business hotel and the amenenties are from the dark ages with a single computer that is so old it takes 5 minutes to boot up. The only plus to this hotel was its downtown location. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Good Deal for Downtown
This is an older boutique style hotel but the location is great and it is very reasonable for downtown. You can walk to Baywalk and the bars/restaurants on Central. The lounge is a good place to get a martini or a drink before heading out for the evening. I would not recommend the breakfast...they dont open until 8:00 and the staff is rude...also I was the first customer for breakfast and they ran out of toast! How do you run out of toast? at 8:00 am??
