Great place to stay
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It was an easy walk to the ballpark and downtown restaurants. The only complainat would be somewhat insufficient lighting in the room/ bathroom.

Great Beds
Really comfortable beds, linens and pillows made for great sleeping. Nice shower with Aveda products. Only drawback was you had to go down to the bar to buy coffee in the morning, which was minor. Overall, I was please with my brief stay.

Motel lacks basic amminites
Room was very good, but only came with one glass for drinking. Requested additional glasses in a note to the maid, only one glass provided. Come ON, I don’t need to share the only glass. No in-room coffee, went down to main desk to get a cup of coffee, NO! resturant should be open in 20 minutes, left with no coffee. No ice machines, the in-room refrigerator was stocked with booze, wine, mixers, etc. but no ice available. Im sorry but even the cheap motels provide more than one drinking glass per room, plus in-room coffee, and ice mahines. Maybe I just don’t understand 4-Star Hotels and need to go back to the cheap motels.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If looking for a 4-Star Hotel skip the Alden Houston. Rooms OK but "NO" amminities.
