good location, charming hotel
The location is great. The staff are very friendly. Room was spacious and clean with a view of the top of the leaning tower over lots of tile roofs. The bathroom was quite small, hard to move around in it. Internet only available in the lobby for a fee.

River view
Hotel is the only one in Pisa overlooking the river. Has been in the same family since 1837. The room we had was enormous with views over the river. The staff all spoke extremely good English and went out of their way to be helpful. There is a sign in the lift which suggests that you walk down the stairs to breakfast to view the hotel. It is a must. Each floor is different, spacious, paintings, photographs on each floor. The hotel is very central, walking distance to the Duomo, buses pass the door, and one even takes you to the Airport for one euro fare. Various restaurants all in walking distance. Would recommend this hotel highly. Book in advance very popular.

Leaning tower in walking distance, various restaurants and gelateria by the score. Excellent ice cream. Sightseeing bus can be picked up at the Leaning Tower and is a good way to see the city where you can then choose if you want to spend more time in a particular area.

Great location/ wonderful staff
Lacking were a hair dryer and an inroom safe. The beds were a bit uncomfortable but those are the only negatives. The location and charm of the hotel were worth the few drawbacks. The staff was super helpful with tips and dinner reservations. I would stay here again.
