Typical uninspired Comfort Inn

This hotel is located within a few miles of Titusville, where one can get a great view of a space shuttle launch up close and personal. Hotel is right along I-95. Located directly next door to the hotel is an IHOP and across the street is a Cracker Barrel. On the other side of the highway there is a Denny’s, McDonald’s, and a few other restaurants. This is a typical Choice Hotels/Comfort Inn property -- they think they have something real special going on but in reality it isn’t special at all. This property has all exterior doors, meaning no inside hallways -- all rooms open up directly to the outside. In Florida, this is always bad, because of the humidity. Exposure to the humidity creates musty smells, a minor annoyance but nothing to be too worried about. The same goes for many hotels with indoor hallways in Florida, too. My room was generally clean. Only located 5 insects in there -- two dead beetles, and 3 living small ants. None of those were in or near the beds. Again - to be expected in a Comfort Inn w/exterior doors in Florida. One of the towels was noticeably dirty as well. Bed linens were all pretty new and nice and clean, beds were comfy. Hotel in OK condition - the front canopy was wrecked and they had a big dumpster blocking part of the driveway. They appear to be doing some repair on it. The pool looks nice enough with some cool rock waterfalls and such. The TV had lots of TV channels to choose from which is unusual for a place like this. I was here for a shuttle launch so the prices were up high - about twice what it was actually worth. The shuttle got delayed and they extended my stay with no problems. They mis-printed my credit card on the registration slip and needed me to come by the front desk, at my convenience, to drop off my card. I wasn’t able to do this until the next day when I checked out, and Kay at the desk got a little bit rude about the fact that I had waited to bring it down. Scolding your customers is absolutely not good customer service, and for that reason i’d have to think about it before I consider staying here again.

We left.

This hotel was in a sad condition. It was so bad that my 3 boys who are 6, 9, and 15 refused to stay. My 6 year old asked me if he could sleep in the car!!! There were dead flies stuck to the wall, carpet was filthy. Air conditioner wasn’t on. The room temperature must have been over 90F! Even when we turned it on, it didn’t work well and we couldn’t stand to stay inside as it was so hot. There was a bee hive on top of our front door and a bee was constantly flying in and out. We left and booked ourselves in another hotel.
