Great location but a bit uncared for
This hotel has a fantastic location on the beach. From a sea view room there is a magnificient vista and you are close enough to hear the waves. The hotel decor is a bit tired but it is clean. We requested a fridge for our room that turned out to be very noisy and old. The service was a little patchy but overall good. I would go again because of the great location. The town itself is unremarkable with too much poor planning- large empty and ugly apartment blocks. The restaurants are good value though.

Summer stop over in algarve
Excellent location right on the beach with wonderful views of the sunset. Helpful staff. I was there alone but also good for families and couples

hotel garbe - warning building site at resort at moment
my partner and i went to the Garbe last year and loved it. So this year we went back for a week. Boy were we in for a shock as the whole of the resort is a building site and right outside our hotel were diggers bulldozers etc. The noise was unbearable. We were really shocked as were not informed of this when booking. At night you had to wear your worst shoes as had to climb up rocks down rocks thru dust to get to anywhere. This is no exaggeration every road and side street had been dug up. Diggers were on the beach at 6.00 every morning which woke us up and to add to the noise outside just took the biscuit. The hotel is lovely though and the views at back of hotel were still lovely. We did ask for a ground floor room when booking by pool but this request was not taken on board. The balconies are too small and get no sun so did not use ours once. . We did also have ants in our room which we did not have last year. Will go back to Garbe but will make sure all building finished and will only stay for a short break as towards the end of stay the breakfast room resembled a school dinner room and would benefit greatly from the waiters serving at each table offering tea and coffee. On a final note towels on sunbeds people are getting down at the crack of dawn and getting favourite spots and sometimes we found there were no sunbeds available at all. The Palm Beach Bar is fantastic very friendly and do lovely strawberry milkshakes.

Sunbathing paradise. But get to pool early if you want a sunbed or go to beach.
