Sofitel so nice
The hotel was excellent and a great value (on sale). Close to beautiful Century Park, don’t miss it

Good rooms but poor service
I stayed one night in this hotel on Jan 1st. The hotel room itself matches the star rating, nice and clean and well decorated. However there were several incidents which made me think twice before I decide if to come back. Check-in took really long time, they spent 20 minutes just to check in two guests. One of the only two Asian-style restaurants at lobby level was closed on New Year Day. The worst was the breakfast buffet. Very limited choice of food. Worst still, the waiter and waitress seemed to be only willing to serve the non-Asian guests. The guests next to our table were asked multiple times if they needed any drink while my husband and myself were just ignored. We sat there and observed this pattern repeated among other tables. Very funny. Seems the waiter and waitress still preserve the unpopular foreigner-first tradition in old Shanghai.
