Just about satisfactory place to stay
The location of this hostal in S’Arenal is good -close to Palma, the airport and Aqualand, about 5 minutes walk to the beach, close to a taxi rank and a bus stop (where you can catch buses to Palma and Aqualand). The hostal itself is fairly clean and comfortable but basic and a little run-down. There is no reception at the hostal so when you arrive you have to walk over to Hotel Manuas (2 minutes walk) to collect the keys and check-in which is not ideal when you have a heavy suitcase with you! However you do get to use the restaurant at the hotel if you have taken the buffet breakfast option and you can use the swimming pool there too. The resort is okay - lots of Germans, Dutch and Spanish but not many English. The beach is lovely and does get crowded but is very long so you can always find a free spot. You can walk along the pleasant promenade to Playa de Palma and make the most of the many bars, restaurants and shops along the way. Both S’Arenal and Playa de Palma do get very lively and noisy at night so take ear-plugs if you want to get any sleep!
