Great place t o stay in NYC

We booked the Envoy Club Suites last minute and were not disappointed at all. It was a great location (5 minute walk to the Empire State Building) and in a lovely clean and safe part of Manhatten. The room was not huge but a good size, big bed, good size bathroom with great shower and excellent size kitchen. The room was clean (could have done with a hoover) and they didn’t change the bedsheets in the 10 days we were there (although we found out they would have if we had asked?!) Great gym with sauna, cinema, meeting rooms and washing room. Would highly recommend and will go back.

Huge Rooms, Good Price, Good Location

The room size is amazing. Full bedroom with king size bed, separate sitting area with couch & loveseat, full kitchen. Condition is definitely acceptable, and everything was very clean. Only downside is spotty availability of hotel concierge. Otherwise, great place to stay. Would stay there again.

Nearly ideal-would use again

We chose the Envoy because we needed two rooms and our own kitchen/diner due to 16 month grandson and parents and grandparents. The two bedroom suite worked out well with with two bathrooms and large lounge. It was about 10-15 minutes walk from the Empire State Building, so close enough to the action but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. There were plenty of restaurants/diners/bars locally which seemed reasonably priced as they were far enough away from the tourist hotspots. The daily maid service was good. Now just a few negatives but which didn’t spoil our stay. The overall cleanliness could have been better, we found a dirty flannel (washcloth) under the cushion of one of the chairs. The kitchen was clean but none of the china and glasses was a full set and the ice maker in the fridge didn’t work, although it wasn’t necessary in Sept/Oct. Two of the blinds were broken in the lounge, but being on the 7th floor it didn’t matter. Overall we were happy with the suite and location.

If you are doing the tourist thing buy an open top hop on/hop off bus tour which includes entry to some major attractions. We used Gray Line tours which worked out very well. Also, we went up the Empire State building at about 4:00pm and encountered no queues, which was the opposite of what we had been advised. Maybe it was because it was September.
