Bernard’s Bugzzzzz & Bears

I admit when I booked this hotel I was fully aware it was in the nightlife capitol of the island a great place called "Paceville" where the music even on week nights finishes around 3am & 5am on the weekends. What I was not prepared for was drilling and hammering from 5 to 8am onwards when trying to sleep off the nights partying. Stayed in a room one night shared by a lone cockroach and then moved to another equally as noisy on the other side, by the 4th night of my 5 I decided to leave this hotel and pay for another just to get a nights sleep before returning to work....be warned you get what you pay for here...sometimes even with free room mates with more than 2 legs ;-)

Traveller's tip on nightlife

If you don’t want Nightlife don’t stay in St Julian’s, Sliema & Valletta would be better and if you do want to party local buses are cheap and run an efficient service.....never get the white cabs from the airport as they cost a fortune.

Fantastic hotel

We could not fault this hotel at all. The reception staff were extremly helpful. The rooms were spotless, we had clean towels and bedlinen daily. The rooms had double glazing so they were not as noisy as previous reviews. If you are looking for a quiet family holiday, this is not the place to stay, but if you are looking for a cheap holiday with a central location to the nightlife, this is the place to stay.

2 star not 4 star

If you are expecting a 4 star hotel, think again. Possibly a 2 star strangely there is a sign outside with 4 star on it, it isnt a mistake. Facilities were average at best. The location is good if you want to party/get drunk but apart from that you should avoid as it is very loud until approx 4am.
