Great Position for the Grand Place

A very central position in Brussels if you want to be near the Grand Place which is only a short 5 minute stroll. The downside is that it can be quite noisy being located on one of Brussels main streets, but shut the double glazed windows & it’s pretty quiet. If you know Marriot hotels, then this follows the usual format with decent sized rooms & excellent comfy beds. The only criticism was that on our second day, the room was not serviced at all - I rang to say we did not need the room cleaning, but we would need some clean towels. 10 minutes later, someone literally came straight in the door without any knocking or saying anything & put the towels into the bathroom. This was a real shock, as we would have expected the door to be knocked before any service personnel would enter the room (with us in it) & could have been more than embarrassing. Other than that the Hotel was great.

Traveller's tip on dining

We eat at these 3 restaurants : Aux Paves De Bruxelles - a great Steak & Frites place just off the Grande Place. Superb steaks & a great atmosphere. About 60 Euro’s for two. La Quincaillerie - about a 10 minute Taxi ride outside of the centre. Expensive, but well worth it for a special meal. Distinctive interior & brilliant atmosphere, 160 Euro for two - a great night. Falstaff - Cheap & Cheerfull, opposite the Hotel. Food was OK, but not warm enough!

Good but run daown

The hotel is good abut it is very much rundown. Needs good refurbishment. The staff were frindly enough and the hotel is located very much in the centre. You can walk almost everywhere from the Hotel. Lots of resturants are near by. I do recomend it.
