Could do better.

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Il Palazzin. Unfortunately, my luggage was taken by another traveller and even though the Hotel were notified of this by the airport they made no attempt to contact me, and offered no help in arranging for my case to be collected - which resulted in a round trip by taxi to the airport at a cost of 50 EUR. The room - whilst clean was uncomfortable, no views and VERY noisy (room 003) on the ground floor - next to reception. Breakfast whilst unimaginative was fresh and tasty - would get bored of it if you had to eat it for a week. Bus station very close - but beware - our bus got us to St Julian’s Bay in record time on Friday night - about 10 mins !! There seemed to be an overall element of speed with the taxi and bus drivers.

Just Passing Through

We stopped here for a night before our apartment was ready, so in fairness it may have got better, but as they say first impressions count. On arrival, very grand looking hotel. On the back streets but not far at all from the action. The reception was grand and night porter very helpful and chatty. The lift was small, with numerous people about and suitcases it took a while. The corridors looked tired and the room equaly so. The furniture needs replacing and the beds were, errr. past it. Cleanliness was OK, bathroom needed a makeover. Room size was good and we overlooked the pool which was small but nice. Who knows when its packed if you could get in. The following day, breakfast now yes it is included but a choice of, a few cereals, bread rolls, sliced bread and ham and cheese. Watered down orange and something else juice with usual coffee and tea. Use a little imagination. All in all a pleasant place, with street parking which was a bonus. But in need of a make over. Reflect this with the price and you get what you pay for. Dont expect luxury here but for a night or two on a buget would be ok.

worthy of a quick budget passing through stay

Too Noisy

The hotel walls and floors have no sound proofing. Every morning we were woken at 7am by the sound of scraping chairs over the floors throughout the building. By the end of the week we were exhausted and couldnt wait to get back to the UK for a sleep in!
