Dilapidated
This hotel needs to be closed and refurbished before charging guests to stay. The shower didn’t work, the bed springs were poking through the mattress, the bathroom had a serious mould problem and the room was "chiintz". Although it had been cleaned it smelled musty and old. I would not stay here again.

Place to sleep
If you are like we were we just needed a clean place to put our stuff and sleep since we were out sight seeing all the time, then this is the place for you. I was very happy with the Britannia and the staff was very pleasant. Only down side is there is no AC in the building BUT that is in most places in the UK I found out... so its not their fault. So if you can’t sleep with it a little on the warm side you might want to consider that. They also let us keep our bags in a separate room when we had to check out, that was a huge help.
Traveller's tip on dining
There is an amazing cafe about one block north. Take a right and it has a blue awning. Best breakfast around.

Would return
A hotel in need of renovation. However this is made up for by it’s location both for travel and shops/pubs/retaurants nearby.
