Loved it...can’t wait to go back

Resort had lots to do.. the Xcaret park was soo much fun, you just walk next door and you are right there. We liked the Beach Club best for breakfast & lunch, really good guacamole! Drinks were endless & not watered down, house wines not so great. The beds were very firm as well as the pillows, so not that great. The front desk could have been a little more helpful.

Paradise

This resort was wonderful. Relaxing, beautiful, peaceful. The jungle atmosphere combined with the lovely cove and ocean areas made me feel as though I was truly in paradise. The hotel staff was acommodating and friendly. The food was absolutely fantastic. The drinks at the beach bar were excellent. Try to get reservations to the seafood restaraunt- best food I have ever eaten. There were plenty of places to relax and recline by both the pools and the ocean/beach areas. The weather was beautiful and warm. I do suggest that if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs because you can hear everything through the room walls.

Wonderful Getaway

My BF and I enjoyed our stay at the Occidental Grand Xcaret very much. The hotel grounds were wonderful with several walking paths that led us to monkeys, ruins and the beach. The room was clean and serviceable and we tipped the hotel staff so that we always had plenty of beer and water stocked in the mini fridge. The lagoon was nice to have since the waves were too rough and the beach too rocky to swim in the open ocean. One night the hotel hosted a cocktail party by the water with food, drinks, dancing and music. It was lovely. Please take advantage of the excursions. If we had more time, we would have rented a car for our own adventures but the arranged trips were great all the same. One day we went to Tulum in the morning and Xel-Ha in the afternoon. Both were incredible! The wildlife, paths and especially snorkeling at Xel-Ha were fantastic! It was also all-inclusive so drinks and food were included. But the real gem was right next door. The Xcaret park is right next door. There’s an underground river that you can float down, Mayan villages, a bat cave, even Tapirs! But the greatest thing about our trip is we happened to be there during the Day of the Dead festivities! It was amazing, there were shows and music and the park was filled with people (seemingly not all tourists) enjoying the spectacle. Definitely take advantage if you stay at this hotel. All in all a wonderful trip filled with amazing memories!
