JW Standards, always at the top
As always, friendly service, constant attention. Only complaint would be few taxis at the hotel.

Nice & clean, but expensive & not outstanding
From the hotels that we saw on-line and during our visit to Caracas, the JW Marriott is the best kept in town. It has the cleanliness and ammenities you find in other JW Marriotts across Latin America but the two things that left us a bit unpleased where the service - nobody could recommend places to visit or how to get to the museums & tourist points we were interested in seeing - and the prices, which are high even for current Caracas standards. Another let down was the lack of taxis. There are very few on site and everybody tries to scare you from walking or taxing a taxi from the street because of "insecurity". During our week stay, we ended up walking all over town and flagging cabs on the street... much cheaper and no security issues encountered.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
There is no currency exchange at the hotel. If you can, get somebody to buy your dollars because the official rate is a very bad deal! Also, book your cab to the airport outside the hotel... a one-way trip costs around $100 dollars!
