4 Star-I think not
Ample car parking on the adjacent rubble field next door to the hotel.Rooms where small and bathrooms adequate but shower poor.Breakfast tedious after a week.Good location but steep hill into town.Bar prices expensive even at happy hour.Sufficient sun beds around pool.

Tivoli Hotel Lagos portugal
Have just returned from tivoli hotel lagos portugal.Sept 2009 hotel very good,rooms very clean,staff very pleasent,one small gripe is that they do not have tea and coffee making facilities in each room normally a given for a 4 star hotel.But they do have a free tea/coffee machine available all day in one of the bars. We had a twin room with bed and breakfast good variety of food on the breakfast buffet but the same as anywhere else in portugal the sausages and the bacon come from god knows where.And one final point when you are in a hotel with a lot of pensioners be prepared for them at feeding time its like a zoo they push shove and generally eat like pigs like its there last day on earth (I suppose to some its a bit nearer than others) location good lagos itself is very nice weather in sept 28 degrees average altogether well worth it.

Hire a car and travel the width of Portugal and see different locations from west to east its not far and its well worth it .

Great central location
Would happily go back. Decent breakfast buffet, reasonably pried drinks at bar plus long happy hour. Central but quiet location. Slight drawback is that the sliding patio doors in older part of hotel are very noisy to open & close, so you know when the neighbours are around!
Check out the nearby beautiful and clean small beaches/coves. You can even swim through the grottos/archways at high tide.
