Superb accommodation for sight seeing in Madrid

The hotel is very modern, clean and finished to a high standard. I got an excellent rate through hotels.com and was pleasantly surprised by what we found. It is missing a few of the little extra’s like tea and coffee facilities in the room and a soap dish, but we weren’t too fussed as it was too hot for coffee. Free water was supplied in the fridge, very comfortable bed, pillows etc, powerful hair dryer (not always found in hotels!) and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is also stumbling distance to the tube which is great when its so hot and you’re tired from sight seeing! Its a convenient location on the tube lines to get to the airport and the centre of Madrid to the tourist attractions. The view from the hotel wasn’t very interesting and there didn’t seem to be much near the hotel, but we were there to see Madrid so this did not bother us at all! Breakfast as always is expensive in these hotels, but there is a McDonalds and corner shop nearby, and loads of places in the centre of town.

I would definately suggest contacting the tourist information office and finding opening times etc as some of the churchs etc were not open and there were no notices or information available. Also ask the Metro ticket desk for assisatnce on the different types of metro tickets available as they do a tourist travel card for metro and buses etc, and a 10 trip ticket which can be used by two people. And most importantly take a spanish phrase book, English is not always spoken by the Spanish.

Lovely, clean, would go back!

Checking in was easy, english spoken. Hotel very modern, clean and cool. Easy to get to by metro from airport. Room was lovely although a bit smaller than used to. Bed comfortable, room service was good. Would use again.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

When you arrive at the airport go to Tourist Information Point and pick up maps and info about travel passes. Buy a Tourist Metro pass for 1,3 or 5 days and use this to travel around, it does save you money.
