Great hotel in a great spot!
The hotel is in a great spot: just 15-20 minutes walk to most attractions (e.g. Roman Forum and St Peters) and only 5 minutes from the bustling hub of the Trastevere nightlife, but is in a relatively quiet spot so you dont need to worry about sleeping above a noisy restaurant. However, there is a church and convent next door so be prepared for a 7am alarm call from the church bells - but youll be wanting to get up then anyway to explore the city! Breakfast is served in a lovely room adjoining the convents garden, with lots of cheese, meat, bread, croissants and other sweet things to choose from. The hotel was fantastic - very clean and comfortable and we had no issues whatsoever during our stay. Theres lso a lovely roof terrace with views across Rome - great for a relaxing drink before going out for dinner. All the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and they kindly ordered us an airport shuttle bus as our italian wasnt very good! This was a great hotel and we would stay again.
Traveller's tip on dining
Walk up Via San Francesco e Ripa to the top of Trastevere (5 min walk) and the area around Piazza S Maria e Trastevere and beyond for loads of great restaurants and bars, and the best ice-cream shop (Crema)!

Loved it.
The room was very small but a good value for our rate. Room was nicely appointed with safe, frig, free wi-fi and it was quiet eventhough we were on the street side. Bathroom was amazing -- so roomy and clean it made up for the small size of the rest of the place. Great cappaccino at breakfast. Front Desk people were courteous and very helpful. 2 block walk to #8 tram for a quick leg saving trip to center city.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Get a bus map and study it before you arrive -- or at least immediately upon arrival. Even with using the bus therell be hours of walking and when you hit the wall and you are still a 25 min walk from your hotel the bus is alife saver. Dont buy the official map sold at the tourist offices, buy the one at magazine stands for 6 Euros its much, much easier to understand. And get the Roma Pass,2 free museums and 3 free days on the bus.

Adequate
This really is a basic hotel with small bedrooms but decent sized bathrooms. However, our room and bathroom were very clean and this is important. The rooftop bar is also very pleasant. Trastevere is a fantastic, quaint part of the city, with charming, narrow, cobbled streets and a good selection of eateries. The piaza at Santa Maria, is 5 minues walk away and is a super focal point. If we ever return to Rome we would never consider stopping anywhere apart from Trastevere.
