Great hotel for the money

I recently stayed in the Edward Hotel while visiting London. Although the rooms were small and simple, it was more than an adequate place to sleep and clean up for the time spent in the city. More importantly, it’s in a great location, only a block from Paddington station. It was easy to find and easy to get to. It’s a convenient, competent hotel for the price.

Book with caution

The only thing this hotel has going for it is it’s location (1 block from Paddington Station). The room I was given (could not change) was awful. The bathroom exhaust fan had to remain on or the sewer smell became overwhelming. All night long the boiler and pipes belched and banged. At checkoout, there was a long line of guests all demanding to be moved to other rooms due to the boiler noise. When my turn finally came, I was told I needed to pay for breakfast (which I did not partake of). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Awful!!

The hotel is very close walk to Paddington Station. Beyond that there is nothing to recommend it; the rooms are small and shabby (don’t think anything has been updated or replaced for years). We didn’t want to touch anything in the room, especially the bed. I guess this proves the saying: "You get what you pay for!"
