Pleasant place to stay
The hotel is a very old building but is well mantained, the staff is very kind and the location is good.

It’s only 2*, so I think it’s ok
The hotel is located in city center away from Copacabana. It seems a good spot for business travellers and not so much for tourists. It’s an old building and everything in the rooms seems old in need of upgrade. Air Conditioning did not work. There is a good view of the sugar loaf montain and corcovado if you are on the right side of the hotel. You have to be aware there is a lot of traffic noise though. I did not find staff very friendly or nice. Breakfast restaurant does not seem very hygenic.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Do not ask reception to arrange taxi for you. They use unlicenced drivers who don’t use meters and it works out more expensive than using regular yellow taxis.

Very well located
The hotel is very well located. Near to the very center of the city, transportation and touristic places. The service is very good, but there is not internet in the rooms. Breakfast is all right. The personnel is very polite and gently.
