Good intro to Derry

The Derry Travelodge is well sited for foot explorations of the city, and the carpark arrangements with the facility opposite the hotel were useful in saving on parking hassles. The rooms were all clean and pleasant. The nearby restaurants and bars provided more than adequate refreshment for my group of hungry and thirsty men.

The Ice Wharf alongside the Travelodge provided a fine full Ulster breakfast which would satisfy any hungry traveller at a bargain price. The only drawback was its rather dilatory management with regard to opening time. 09:30 was indicated but nothing happened for several minutes after that, and the lady opening the doors had the most miserable face we saw in the entire province.

Very disappointed

Unclean, poorly maintained, overstared hotel, was moved rooms to an equally bad room, was offered breakfast as compensation which had to be declined due to further experiences of uncleanleness! will never stay in a Travel Lodge again!!

Find a different hotel, and experience some great hospitality and value for money from the City of Derry of which I would return.

Clean bed, spacious room, but a hopelessly putrid hostelry otherwise

I stayed here for one night. The location was convenient and the chap on the reception at night was a very helpful gentleman. The room was spacious and the bedding was clean, but apart from that, the place was rancid. There was an empty wine bottle in the wardrobe; there was used subway sandwich wrappings festering in one of the drawers, chewing gum in the carpet and the room stunk. The hallways and stairways were absolutely filthy and stinking of urine, vomit and God knows what else. The secure parking facility advertised closes at 6, which is ridiculous. It was not cheap either and I have stayed in far better places for less. This hotel was billed as 3 star, the guideline for which includes a greater emphasis on comfort and service etc. This was certainly not a 3 star hotel based on that guideline and is the filthiest hotel I have stayed in for a good many years. Based on the cleanliness of the rest of the hotel, I shudder to think what the kitchen was like so needless to say I did not buy breakfast there. In fact, I would say the only customers willing to risk breakfast there would be kamikaze ones.
