Wouldn’t go back there
The hotel was clean and well placed but I wouldn’t necessarily go back there. I was expecting higher standards. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 3pm and we had to wait another half an hour. The room smelt of cigarette smoke, despite it being a non-smoking room and we very nearly insisted on changing. We were also disappointed that no breakfast was included in the price, as it was not cheap.

Would certainly book again
We stayed for two nights in a twin room with lake views. The reception staff were polite and spoke excellent English, the room was very clean and the beds large and comfortable. We parked in the underground car park opposite the hotel,quite expensive but cheaper than the hotel carpark. We were on the 5th floor but could still hear traffic noise from the busy road infront of the hotel although we were not disturbed by this.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
This is an excellent place to stay for access to the lake but the old town centre is a tram ride away up hill. Fortunately free travel passes are given at the hotel

great visit
A friend and I stayed at the Movenpick for a wedding. We called ahead to ask for early check in and when we arrived at the hotel at 10am, our room was ready for check in (check in is normally at 2pm). At check in we were also given the option of an upgrade or buffet breakfast for two days which was a pleasant surprise. The buffet was terrific. The hotel is very clean and the staff is accomodating and helpful. I would definitely stay at the Movenpick Lausanne on future visits to the area.
