Love the view

The view is the best. The room and service was great. It is a little isolated from the town and walking around is not really an option. They have a van that runs every hour to and from town witch we used sometimes twice a day witch was good. Floridaking

The Palace.

Birthday treat at the Vista Palace Hotel

After ready some of the reviews of this hotel on line I was concerned how it would be when I got there. I read of unfriendly staff, small rooms and shabby and being very remote. I was only staying for 1 night but I thought the hotel was fantastic. People will book this hotel mainly for the views and you will not be disappointed. We ate in the restaurant and had a great time although conversation will suffer as you are too busy taking in the views!! The room was great and I think the people that complained were probably from the US and are used to much larger rooms. But for me I thought they were more than adequate, clean and also had amazing views. The décor is a little 80’s but not dirty or tatty in any way so I cant see any problem with them. The staff at reception couldn’t have been more helpful. I emailed them from Monte Carlo asking them to arrange the shuttle bus to collect me when I was ready to check in and this was arranged with no problems. As the title says I booked this hotel as a stop over during a trip to the south of France for my partners birthday. She absolutely loved the hotel too and has rated this as 1 of her top 5 hotels, so it cant be that bad!! The hotel is remote but it has to be to get the spectacular views, the distance from Monte Carlo just has to be a trade off and one that it worth taking in my opinion. The hotel does offer the shuttle service which I think runs every half hour so if you plan your day around these there should be a problem.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

One thing I would say is expect to pay over the top for most things which would be expected in Monte Carlo. We were coming back later than the last shuttle and the short cab trip was 30 euros, so try and make use of the shuttle. A trip to the casino is worth doing, the building is great. Although I was dissapointed that the dress code is a lot more relaxed and was hoping it was going to be black tie (like in Bond!) unfortunatley it isnt. But still worth paying the 10 euros to take a look.

Perfect!

Our view was stunning. We could see the sun rise each morning over the mediterranean. The restaurant was amazing, too. We ate a wonderful meal on the terrace as the lights glowed from Monaco below. The breakfast was great. The service was wonderful. I would most certainly go back and recommend it to a friend. The only thing one could say is that the decor is slightly dated. I don’t think it was a negative at all though. We’re talking just late 80’s seaside. But the service, food and view were most certainly 5 star in my book.
