Comfortable, Convenient Enough, But Something Missing
We stayed at this hotel for three nights in October 2009 in a large studio room. This is a pleasant, serviceable hotel. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. Our room had a working fireplace with artificial logs available at the desk for $4.50 each. My only objection to the room was that the lighting was awful with low wattage compact fluorescent light bulbs. Yes, yes, its "green," but the light is ugly and made the room dreary at night and it is hard to read by. Yet, somehow the place was lacking. It might be that the place is kind of "motel-y" and seems cheaply built. Entrances to rooms are from the outside off a interior courtyard and our door was tucked awkwardly under stairs. The path to the office and breakfast was wandering and circuitous . You could hear the "elephants" stomping around upstairs. The location is very close to New Haven, Yale, and I-95. It is in an area of office buildings and is a little hard to find. It is not clear when you drive up where the office is. It would be difficult to be there without a car. In summary, it is clean, mostly comfortable, convenient and a reasonable value-for-money. It is better than just functional, but somehow lacking if you want more than that.

Would definitely not come back
The hotel description said that the hotel was newly refurbished. When we arrived the room was in desperate need of refurbishement. It was smelly and we could not sleep because of the fan outside the room. Although the staff kindly gave us a different room for the seond night and the odor in the room was better, the value for money was poor. The location of the hotel was atrocious (industrial and office area) and there was little day light in the room. The notice at the door from the inside said that for your safety please make sure to lock the doors! The price for what we got was astronomical! We would definitely not recommend the hotel and we definitely wont be back.

Very helpful staff
After arriving late & finding out there had been a mix up with our booking we dreaded the worst, however, the staff were extremely helpful, sorted everything out quickly and without any fuss and we were soon in our very comfortable suite. Enjoyed our stay so much weve already booked in for our next visit to Yale.
Traveller's tip
Handy for Yale if you have a car - 5 minutes to Old Campus.
