Very good hotel at airport area

The hotel is very nice although the maintenance left behind some dirty walls and carpets. It is a good hotel if you need to catch an early fly, because it is relatively far from Sultanhamed area. We arrive early and decide to sightsee the city, as we had time to kill, we took the hotel shuttle (every half hour from both direction) to the airport and the train to downtown. It took us about one hour. We enjoy it, because we could see some of regular Istanbul life. We left early to catch a fly and they had juice, fruit, coffee or tea and some pastries, very nice attitude.

Traveller's tip

To go downtonw take the shuttle from the hotel to the airport and from there take the train and after the eletrico to get to the central areas. You will spend less than 5 dollars both ways.

Unacceptable Service, Rude Staff, Terrible Location

I could not have been more disappointed with my stay at the this hotel. The staff were, for the most part, extremely unresponsive, even rude. The prices of food and beverages were astronomical. For example, the least expensive glass of wine on the menu of the lobby cafe was 65 TL!! The bathrooms were constantly being flooded and we had to call maintenance every day. The TV reception was spotty and unreliable, and the hotel does not even offer CNN International! I also found separate facilities for men and women in the health club area offensive. Only positive aspect of the hotel was free internet service. This is not a hotel that I would visit again.

Overall a good hotel

This hotel is very nice, close to the airport with good shuttle service. Make sure you get a new room, because the old section of the hotel is dirty. I had to change rooms but once I did I was very satisfied. The hotel has a free internet room which is very nice and convenient. The service in the breakfast buffet is terrible but the food is good, but you have to beg for things like silverware and coffee, very bad service. The food in the bar is wonderful, the restaurant is very over priced, eat in the bar, much better deal and better food. The worst part of this hotel is the showers. The showers have a glass panel and water gets all over the floor. The bathtub is raised very high and stepping out of it, onto a soaked floor, with only a glass door to grasp on to, makes for a very dangerous combination.

Excellent value

My husband and I stayed with our two children for a weekend in September. As we arrived late Friday and left early Monday, the airport location was very practical. The taxi ride into the old town from the hotel was only 15-20 minutes and cost about $25. The hotel room ("high tech suite") was two floors, spacious, and nicely decorated. It faced an inner courtyard and was totally shielded from any noice from the airport. The breakfast was very generous and a good mixture of conventional hotel breakfast and traditional Turkish dishes. We didn’t use the fitness room, but the swimmingpool and hot tub were a superb way to end the day after exploring the fantastic sights of Istanbul.

Comfortable hotel, close to airport

Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel. The staff was very helpful & professional and had the largest number of English (and other languages) speaking staff of any place we visited in Turkey. Although I would not consider it a 5 star hotel, I would give it a solid 3.5 to 4 stars.

Met our expectations

We chose the Radisson SAS because it was near the airport. We enjoyed our three night stay. Two nights together then another night later in the month of August. The staff is exceptional - friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were comfortable - very satisfied.

Great hotel, great staff!

Good hotel

The hotel was great and fit my needs. However, I was flying out of Istanbul at 6am so I needed a place near the airport. I had seen that the Radisson offered a free shuttle service to the airport 24/7 so I chose this hotel. However when I got there they told me the shuttle service doesn’t start until 5am. It wasn’t difficult to get a cab but it was an expense I wasn’t prepared for.

Totally Average

Stayed for proximity to airport and shuttle was not running at the times we needed. It was a disappointment. Internet did not work sufficiently. Service in bar/cafe was non existent. They never asked if we wanted service because they were watching a game. And then when we ordered room service dressing on the side did not translate. Also upon arrival the phones were not connected and there was not internet/TV service. The front desk was going to send someone to fix it at 2AM instead of just moving us to another equal or better room. We ended up in a worse room, but slept and made our plane. Just won’t go back unless there are no better options.

Typically great Turkish service, under construction

We picked this hotel for its convenient airport location. The hotel has a free shuttle service into Istanbul, and a taxi stand for a quick, cheap ride to the airport. It’s a sleek, modern hotel. Or it will be once the construction is completed. Even in the half day we were there, a ton of work on the lobby was completed, so I expect it will be completed shortly. As we found to be typical of Turkey, service was prompt, excellent and courteous. When we hit the lobby to check out at 4AM, the front desk was in full swing. It could have been mid-day.

Great Hotel

We were upgraded to a "business suite" "because the lobby is being remodeled," which is to be completed by the end of Sept. 08. The room was huge. So, if the regular size rooms are half the size, it would still be very comfortable. Very clean, quite & comfortable. We selected this hotel due to proximity to airport. They have free shuttle to the airport, shopping malls and the center of town. We enjoyed complimentary coffee & tea in the courtyard after dinner. Highly recommend this hotel.

ok for the money

ok for the money,location is great only if you need to be close to the airport. It is definitely not a 5 star hotel. A 3 star--maybe.

The hotel is away from the city center, the transportation is not easy

Not happy at all

It is process of renovation that it badly needs. Carpet was dirty, sink would not drain, mildew in shower. Shabby. Mattress had springs all but poking through it. Only option for food was room service (before 11 pm on a Friday night). Meats should have been listed as jerky. Could not wait to get out of it.

standard type of med range hotel by the airport. Was handy to use for an early flight on the following day.

Great airport alternative.

The shuttle service is very convenient and the hotel offers everything what you need. They need to improve the quality of the breakfast offered for room service, very expensive and poor quality (orange juice is not fresh, and is offered and charged as fresh, bread was old and dry)

was a construction zone . Hotel was wery dirty .and they way over charged for any extras like Breakfast and the A.C. didn`t work

Great service

The staff at the hotel were wonderful and the location is the most convenient I’ve found to Ataturk Airport. The rooms were basic and appropriate for a 3-star European hotel, but not necessarily what you’d be expecting from a US perspective. Adequate, though, and clean. Which is what any wearer traveler can hope for.

Nice and convenient, but not unique.

Conveniently located near the Airport, just minutes from the terminals. Interesting airport views, allows watching aircraft take-off and land. Convenient to Florya near-airport busines locations. Hotel is of good standard, but kind of bland. All in all a good value.

Beware

If you book this hotel and want to change your plans beware. You need to do this 3 days before your arrival or they clip you one nights stay

Check-in problem

THEY WOULDN’T LET GUESTS TO CHECK-IN BEFORE 09:00 AM !!!. IF A GUEST ARRIVE EARLY AFTER LONG HOURS OF FLYING, HE WILL HAVE TO WAIT IN THE LOBBY TILL 09:00 (VERY FUNNY)

Great service

Hotel staff very helpful, especially when it came to sorting out an internet connection issue. Next to the airport, so noisy, but not so bad in rooms away from the main road. The free shuttle bus into town was a great bonus - you are well away from the city centre and its attractions.

Traveller's tip for business travellers

Take the hotel address with you when out and about. Taxi drivers, for language reasons or inability to turn around at the hotel, don’t always recognise the name "Radisson SAS." I settled for being dropped at the airport, then took the free hotel shuttle back.
