Ideal hotel for a stopover
Hotel was clean and welcoming with typical hotel chain bedrooms. You had everything you needed without any frills. Rooms were well sound-proofed and away from the road so very quiet. The hotel had secure parking and was within walking distance of the centre of Beaune. It only did breakfast (very good continental) as it didn’t have a restaurant but they recommended a number of excellent restaurants in Beaune. We would definitely stay there again
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Beaune itself is fabulous, have visited many times. Go to the chateau of Meursault, about 5 km away for wine tasting with a difference (wine cellars under the chateau) but nominate a duty driver!! There were dozens of wines to try. If you are interested in wine you can’t go wrong in this town and surrounding area but bring plenty of money!!
