Hotel in beautiful setting

This hotel is on the edge of the main tourist area in Aix-en-Provence. The hotel’s garden is very lovely. Just the place to recover from a hard day of sightseeing.

Hotel Preteneous

The hotel is impressive at first site, but the Staff seemed aloof. The garden is beautiful, but the room was small but decorated nicely. The lift is so small only one person and a bag can use it at a time. The nearest restaurant is a difficult 10 to 15 minute walk. Overall the hotel is nice, but overpriced.

Lovely place to stay - classic Provence.

It was great. The hotel is a lovely island of peace and quiet within a 5 minute drive of center city Aix en Provence. It is well maintained, clean, and comfortable, and the desk staff were always helpful and responsive to our needs. Only complaint is the restaurant -- I’m guessing it was very, very good, but too pricey and elegant for people who aren’t looking for elegance. Get a room rate that includes breakfast - with the current exchange rate the buffet is around $30. Still, I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Parking in Aix is impossible. Use the underground garages... they’re well worth the cost. Park near the center fountain and walk the rest of the old town. Lots of cafes, bars, and restaurants - we ate all our meals there. The place is always busy. It’s a good starting point for many attractions in the region.
