central location but quiet
we were in Sheffield to visit my son at the Uni. We wanted to be close but the reviews of the other central Sheffield hotels was nice but noisy. The Kenwood is pretty central and very quiet, nice grounds. Our room was a bit tied burt comfortable bed and a good deal thru Hotel.com. Close to Elleshall Lane eateries and bars.
we ate at Nonnas very popular Italian.

Lovely setting ,awful hotel
The Kenwood hotel is set in beautiful grounds but otherwise our visit was not a success. Our room was an odd layout you could only watdch TV from the bed on a very limited range of channels and with poor reception. Our room was very noisy not only because of weddings but also another noise which went on for much of the night mainly from the swimming pool I think. On our last night our room had not been made up and we had no clean towels, so had to hassle the reception. We also only had a bedside light on one side of the bed. I am sure that there are better rooms available, ours 522 was also a long way from the entrance and would have been difficult for the infirm or those with a lot of luggage.

very impressed with hotel and staff
Very impressed with the standard of this hotel. If you are not capable of climbing stairs ask for a room in the new part. The old house does not have a lift and is a good walk from the reception and dining room. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good and the dining room had a view of the lake. The bedrooms are virtually soundproof but not all have lake views as advertised on some web sights
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
There are numerous museums and parks which cater for all the family. Good shopping areas and within striking distance of Peak District.
