Lovely and clean and friendly!
OK, so it was only your basic Ibis, but the rooms were lovely and clean, light and airy. Ours had a great view over the city...we could even see the sea from our window. Breakfast was a bit basic and could have been more imaginative...could have really done with some fresh tomatoes. The Belen cakes (tiny little pastries with custard in them) are absolutely gorgeous.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
The zoo is simply fabulous. Very pretty. The animals have great enclosures but the whole place is very compact as it’s on a hillside. So many amazing creatures! Hang around til dusk- the beasties get much more active and loud. And bottles of beer, Superbock..5.6% costs virtually nothing at the zoo. A great place to get tanked up and watch the animals We went twice in a week!
