Good value

We stayed with our granddaughter; the hotel was a good value, especially given London prices,in a convenient location to two tube stops and good neighborhood restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. They don’t have a lift but did find us a room with only one flight of stairs to navigate. The continental breakfast was better than many we’ve had.

Traveller's tip on dining

The Turkish restaurant, Ishtar, (between Baker and Gloucester Place), and the Moroccan restaurant Original Tagines on Dorset Street were both very good. There is a small cafe on Baker street, I think it’s called Cafe The, had good sandwiches. All were within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Fab friendly hotel

The St George Hotel is on a quiet London street but is only a street away from the bustling Baker St and at one end it intersects with Oxford St and at the other with Marylebone St. So it really is perfectly located. The hotel allowed us to check in early at no extra cost. The staff were pleasand and extremely helpful. The room was clean, small but nicely furnished with tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast room was bright and airy. The continental breakfast was sufficient to set you up for the day. Croissants, toast, cereal, ham, cheese, juice. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and will undoubtedly return.

Go to the the Gourmet Burger Kitchen on Baker St. It was the nicest and most value for money meal we had during our stay.

nice hotel and good price with good amenities

Staff were very helpful, wireless internet and breakfast was included. No Lift, and no AC in this hotel, not a problem for me but if you have heavy luggage and are staying in the summer. You will be very grumpy by the top of the 4 floor. I stayed in May so it was perfect temp. I loved this place, closest T-stop is Marble Arch.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Get the oyser card, its the best deal. Just be sure to "tap in" and "tap out" at the station. Otherwise its a 4 pound fee penalty
