Everything is great, the only bad thing is the housekeeping maid who starts her shift making noise at 8 am !

Need to improve

I booked this hotel as I was attending the Mobile World Congress event and the location of the hotel was good for access to the Feria and it was also only a 5 minute or so walk from the Metro which allowed access to the other parts of Barcelona. The hotel is pretty soulless, with a small bar downstairs and a restaurant on the floor above which I didn’t use. The walls of the bedrooms are paper thin. I could hear every moan and groan from my neighbours. which at 1am is quite annoying. My main gripe though was with the reception staff. As I was going out for a late dinner I booked an alarm call for the following day at 06.00 and a taxi to pick me up at 06.30 to take me to my first meeting. I received my first call from reception at 05.20 to tell me my taxi had arrived! I tried to go back to sleep but at 05.30 they rang again to give me my wake up call. The really annoying thing about this was that I wrote it down on a piece of paper for them before I went out for dinner and when they called the first time I asked them not to call me again until 06.00. Not difficult you would think...think again. Very often I don’t spend a lot of time in the hotels I stay in but when I do get in the important things are peace and quiet and a good sleep. Sorry but they missed out on all 3 counts.

Average Hotel

The room was OK, but the shower was very weird. Every 5 seconds, it would switch on its own from hot to cold, and there wasn’t anything anyone could do about it. In order to access the parking lot, we had to go through three gates, each of which required staff approval. Overall, a decent hotel for the money.
