Smart hotel in good part of town
Very modern hotel in the new part of the city, just a stone’s throw from the shops, and a 10 minute walk to Uria, the main shopping street where you can find El Corte Ingles, and walk on into the old town. I got a good rate of about 50 pounds for a double room, very clean, excellent buffet breakfast for 12 Euros - there is a very small gym with a couple of cardio machines and a small rack of free weights, as well as a good indoor pool and sauna (if you get time, which I didn’t!). Also a bar in the lobby area which is more like a cafe where you can grab a pincho or two and a quick drink/coffee. They have wireless Internet connection up to the 2nd floor (cost 15 Euros a day) - I found the signal a bit weak and connected instead in the lobby which was fine. You can also get a cable for Internet connection in the room from reception. Overall a good, well-priced and comfortable. If you can, try to get a room with a good view.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
If you like to jog, there is a nice park if you take a left out of the hotel, left again, then right. Takes 5 minutes to jog to.
