needs improvement
I thought the hotel needed work. It was comfortable and the people that worked there were wonderful. The food was great!

Had a delightful time
While the building was old - three stories and no elevator, it was in excellent condition with a friendly, open, and "folksie" atmosphere. The room we had was comfortable, but the TV didn’t seem to work, but that was no problem, we weren’t on vacation to watch TV. We spent the evening relaxing in the lobby and the bar (didn’t drink the alcohol though) and had a wonderful time visiting and kibbitzing with the other guests and local townspeople that stopped in for a refreshment. Highly recommend this experience to anyone that chooses to visit the Door County area.
Traveller's tip on dining
The Maitre’D, Desk Clerk, Owner, Bartender (they were all the same person) directed us with knowledge and accuracy to some local dining establishments that were just as enjoyable and entertaining as the hotel stay was.
