Not a 4 star hotel! A 20 storey travellodge!
We booked this hotel as one night working stopover before catching the ferry back to Newcastle, specifically because it was listed as a 4 star hotel. The secure parking promised by the hotel turned out to be a municipal carpark opposite. There was no assistance with our bags and the restaurant was closed. What’s more, there was no room service. The reception staff greeted us and said we could order a Pizza, this must be a common occurence as the room was peppered with fast food brochures! The room was so small there wasn’t even a full size wardrobe, instead there is a sideways hanging rail. Breakfast the next morning was functional and entirely self-service with surly staff who couldn’t wait for you to leave. There was no hot food on offer. The hotel is best described as a 20 storey travel lodge. A two star at best.
Traveller's tip for business travellers
Don’t expect any IT support. We had difficulties logging on to the internet and the receptionist’s advice was "turn it off and on again!" Obviously he has a career in IT ahead of him!

Very good, modern hotel
Have used this hotel on several occasions and always happy. Friendly staff and nice, spacious rooms with excellent views from the higher floors. Free, fast internet also available in rooms. Not in the centre of Stavanger, 5 minutes in a taxi, but about 30 minutes pleasant walk. Top floor restaurant is comfortable and has great views, but although the food is good the choice is limited.
Traveller's tip on dining
Be aware restaurant is not open on Sunday evenings. There is a garage nearby for snacks but anything more lavish will need a trip into town.
