Cannot wait to go back (soon).

This is one of the best country hotels in the UK situated in the heart of the Cotswolds. The dining is supern with a first-clss chef and very helpful and pleasant staff. It should satisfy even the most discerning guests.

Best hotel we have visited

I cant recommend this hotel highly enough. We have stayed in many places but nothing matches this places for beauty and excellent service. The room was gorgeous the food was superb and the staff could not have been more helpful. My only tiny gripe is there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room so morning tea is delivered which seems rather time consuming but its a tiny moan..In room beauty treatments also highly recommended.

If you can go do it and visit Bourton on the water its lovely as is Stow on the wold with a superb butcher and deli

Superb service and fine dining

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left it felt like nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean spacious and nicely decorated. The drinks, food and wine menus were all a delight to choose from and the evening meal was served in a polite but not stuffy atmosphere, delivered at a suitably leisurely pace allowing us to savour each course and tasted every bit as good as the dishes looked. Particular highlights were the Cotswold Lamb, Baked Alaska, which was flambéed at the table and a fine selection of cheeses, all served with a friendly smile from our Parisian waiter, even after we ordered an Australian red... If I can be objective for a moment, we had minor issues with getting cold water out of the cold tap (easily remedied with a jug from room service) and the windows did not open which made the room a little warm (in March). The biggest let down, literally, was the mattress. If you like a very soft bed you will not be disappointed here. For us it was way too soft and took the edge off an otherwise perfect luxury night away. It was so soft, we did not even attempt breakfast in bed for fear of disappearing into the mattress with our trays. That said, complementary teas and coffees were brought to your room in the morning and served in the many reception areas whilst my wife had some beauty treatments in our room. Overall it was a lovely experience and made my wifes birthday very special.
