A great weekend break in one of Englands most historic cities

An excellent hotel. The room was quite large and well equipped with a flat screen TV and working WiFi. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the grounds of the hotel are well maintained and tidy. The Bailbrook is on the outskirts of the town but the number 13 bus runs every 15 minutes or so and the value for money the hotel offers far outweighs any inconvenience caused by location

The Raven is not to be missed for it’s real ales and pies! Also, try the Bath ales pubs like the Salamander

Would use the hoyel again

The hotel was very hot in the corridors and it would have been lovely for the house keeper to aknowledge me instead of constantly speaking to my partner.(especially as i paid) A lift would have been useful. But the room was clean and tidy. New TVs were being put in the room as we arrived and the workmen cleaned up after themselves straight away. The directions were not as good as i had hoped but we found it after a short time. Breakfast was excellent, but the beans could have done with being bit warmer. Overall very lovely hotel that i would use it again

Found an excellent little cafe/restaurant called Wild Cafe, it doesnt look much but possibly one of the best meals i have had in a long time. Only small menu but it was excellent food. Tip for the spa, dont believe what the people say who work there if you want the evening spa session, you do need to get there early or its full by 5pm...

Comfortable but modern

Bailbrook House gives the impression of a country house hotel on its advertising. The reality is a beautiful main building containing reception and function rooms with boxy modern blocks containing bedrooms and restaurant etc. Our room was spacious with a large comfy bed to modern standards but not the boutique experience we were (perhaps naively) expecting. Breakfast was good quality and varied but was served in an almost windowless conference room with fierce air con and music as the usual restaurant was out of action for some reason.

The receptionist at Bailbrook House gave us good advice to leave our car at the hotel and bus into Bath. This was easy and we were able to explore Bath without parking or navigating the complex one way system. Once in Bath centre adults could fill a long weekend browsing shops, visiting The Assembly Rooms, Roman Baths, No 1 The Crescent and eating and drinking in some of the huge range of places in Bath.
