Will return

Our second visit. Although the room was not as nice as the visit everything else was. The staff are lovely because of the down turn there was plenty of room around the pool. The breakfast was plentiful though no fresh juice and no full english. The evening meal is good value 3 choices from 3 courses for 17 euro. All in all for a quiet get away from the bustle holiday I doubt it can be beaten.

Pleasant getaway

We had 2 nights here out of 7 in Malta & Gozo. The rooms look on to one of the two pools, and one range has sea views. There are many flowers and shady areas amongst the sun loungers. Room decor was rather tired; we had 2 dinners here, which were of local dishes, well presented. It’s hard to find the hotel and the directions from the desk given were rather misleading

Nice Hotel but a bit rough round the edges

The Cornicopia Hotel enjoys a good position on the Island of Gozo. The reception area boasts of being in the Good Hotel Guide but the sticker is dated from 1994 so this is 15 years old. This is about the last time that any work was done on the hotel. It is very clean but the bathrooms and decor could certainly do with being updated. The staff are very friendly and the food is of good quality. Although the hotel prides itself on a 4 star award this should be a 3 star hotel. The owner if this hotel also owns Ta Cenc on the island and it would appear that the Cornicopia is a poor relation. Nice hotel, very friendly staff and with an upgrade on the rooms it would be perfect.

Traveller's tip on dining

Hotel is good value but of you have a car then take a trip round the island and eat at some local restaurants. Esp recommend Anthony’s in Nadur (behind the church). Also D-Bar in Qala - next to the church. Both are used by locals and offer excellent value for money.
