Great hotel but not a great location for young couples
We went here 20th Sep 09 for 1 week. The hotel inside is lovely. The dining out near the pool is great for breakfast and stunning at night when the pool is all lit up. Great little bar area and we were upgraded to a room with a hot tub on the patio - and that made our holiday. The weather was very poor we only had 2 and 1/2 days of sun while we were there and a lot of rain, even though it wasn’t that late in the season but unfortunately when the weather isn’t nice there is nothing to do in the area. We did have a car and drove around most of the east coast. The beaches were lovely around costa smeralda but no beach bars apart from beach bianca, so no options to get a snack or shade from the sun at mid day! Around the Golfo Aranci there are very few places to eat and it was soooo quiet, we are a young couple of 26 and 32 and found we were pulling our hair out, we even drove to other places in the evening and found the same thing! Hotel M dinning is great and definitely the best in the area, they even had a Sardi night when we were there with a 5 course traditional meal - great value for money! I would recommend this hotel to everyone as i can’t fault it, if only the area around it was a little bit more lively and i don’t mean like some tacky club resort, i just mean somewhere where there are a few young people with some lively restuarnts and cafes/bars at night where you can sit and watch the world go by
Definitely hire a car while you are there if you want to exploring all the lovely beaches on the east coast - impossible to get there any other way and the beach by the hotel is ok, but nothing compared to the others a short drive away. We got one for 150pounds for the week from Olbia!

very quiet town
The hotel is lovely, great pool, nice breakfast, good rooms with sea views. Golfo Aranci is a very quiet port town with only a few little restaurants (very spaced out from each other) and only 1 bar and the port end of the town is not attractive at all. It is fine for a stay of 3 -4 days but not much longer as there is not a lot going on and not many people around when we visited at end of June. Also the hotel gym is small and limited equipment.
Traveller's tip on dining
I would recommend the restaurant next door to the hotel - great food, nice atmosphere and good service.
