No need to storm this Castle!

It would be hard to find a Castle that is more storybook than the Ashford Castle, complete with river moat, suits of armor and a dungeon (ok the bar). Fantastic Service, People, Food, Plenty of fun stuff to do (anyone want to learn falconry?). The castle inside and out is a blast to hang out in. The rooms though are just about average for a luxury hotel, our bed though unfortunately was two twins shoved together - make sure you don’t get this. Its a minor nit, but the only one I can remember - than again you don’t go to a castle for the rooms! Highly recommended

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Stay at least two - maybe three nights - there is so much to do from golf (on the grounds) to lake crusises that one day just doesn’t cut it. Also the main restaurant can be quite pricey but they do have a few options and if you have a car, there are a few towns with options just outside the castle gates.
