Good location - service 50/50 - wouldnt stay there again
The hotel is in a great location, and if you just want a place to crash and leave your suitcases, you may want to consider this place. The service was divided - there were some people who were fantastic, and others who were just, well, plain rude to guests. The classic case of burnt out staff who gets annoyed with customers, and work in customer service. The beds were okay, and if you stay here, do spring for the single suite - it is much nicer and more comfortable.

Great location
The Francis is on a georgian square, an elegant but slightly tatty building. Our twin room at the front had a lovely view of the square and the secondary glazing kept it quiet at night. We skipped the £15 breakfast but otherwise found the room and location excellant. I would definitely recommend it.
Thermae spa baths, Roman baths, Bizarre Bath tour and the classic walking tour.

Good hotel but bad service
The location was great, very central with a very good view of the park. Everything was tidy and clean, but there are some details a 5-star hotel should improve: in the check-in the receptionist was very rude and not very willing to help. We stayed one night, but still in the morning we have been woken up by the housekeeping very early: they should have been informed that we were leaving that day. Moreover, we have been annoyed with setting up the advance payment for the minibar stuff...even if the minibar itself was empty. Anyway, very good hotel with a great position.
