Not Impressed
the beauchief was obviously good in its day but is rather tired and frayed around the edges now.The rooms are in need of decoration, our carpet was very thread bare. the breakfast left a lot to be desired it was a right bun fight, most of the food was cold. on another note when checking in some friends of ours were offered breakfast for 5 pounds each, when we asked we were told this had not been the case until we took one of the party back with us who argued and got our breakfast for the same price! Not what you would expect from this level of hotel.check out was a nightmare obviously the receptionist was new (or i truly hope she was!)it took 40 minutes to check out!!

Misleading blurb
What a pain to discover info provided doesn’t match the reality. The’ four acres’ of fab gardens were seemingly sold - for a golf course - and there’s nothing around it other than car parks and a walk past other folks windows. Studiously ignoring the ground floor windows, our cousin and his family told us, over breakfast, how they’d watch us stroll by. Dim receptionist, under the impression we’ve an Expedia’ link (despite being told on two occasions it’s an Hotels.com connection), explains her inability to inform/help with "I’veonly just started here" - guaranteeed to infuriate; why have front of house staff with no training etc. Should have been wary after the ppor ’virtual tour’ of ...reception & the Bar? but booked anyway and regret it. Two laptops in reception - only one had internet connection. Breakfast a staggering £11.30 - ate magnificently in Sheffield town centre for half that. Poor.

Stayed for 5 days on business. Clean comfortable room with nice surroundings. Friendly, helpful staff, good food.
