Access Egress

It was very difficult turning into the hotel coming on the opposite side of the road from the Pisa North motorway exit. It was even worse turning out to continue into the town. This was the only problem we found.

do not arrive or leave near rush hour

Needs improvement

Hotel on the outskirts of Pisa, accessible by local bus. It’s a Best Western that’s is need of a facelift. The carpeting was old and seemed moldy. It seems the place was more of a compound rather than a relaxing hotel experience. The restaurant food was excellent (but spendy). The staff was very nice, but overall was not impressed.

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

THE ROOMS WERE VERY SMALL AND ANYONE VERY TALL OR OVERWEIGHT WOULD HAVE AN EXTREMELY HARD TIME USING THE BATHROOM AND SHOWER. THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD (BEEF FLORENTINE) BUT THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST IS VERY LIMITED. THE LUNCH AND DINNERS ARE OVER PRICED. THE STAFF WAS NICE, BUT ONE GIRL (KIERA) WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL. SEEMED TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO KNEW ANYTHING TO ASSIST A GUEST WITH TOURING, ETC. BUS TRANSPORTATION WAS EXCELLENT. WITHOUT A CAR ONE MUST DEPEND ON A TOUR OR BUS. THERE WAS A MARVELOUS MARKET ACROSS THE STREET WHICH WE USED. HAVING A REFRIGERATOR IN THE ROOM WAS A GODSENT. BEING THAT DINNERS DO NOT BEGIN UNTIL 7:30 PM, ONE CAN BUY COLD CUTS, CHEESE, ETC IF THEY ARE USE TO EATING EARLY. HOTEL HAS A WONDERFUL ARRAY OF WINES AT REASONABLE PRICES. IF ONE NEEDS ICE, IT’S A HIT AND MISS IF IT’S AVAILABLE. WE SPENT 9 NIGHTS THERE. THE SAVING FROM BOREDOM WAS A PRIVATE TOUR OFFERED. THE GUIDE (ELIZABETTE) WAS FANTASTIC. THE TOUR COST US 300 EUROS AND WORTH EVERY EURO. SHE PICKED US UP THE FOLLOWING DAY ON HER OWN TIME TO TAKE US TO MANY OTHER PLACES. A MUST TO SEE IS LUCCA. A SMALL CITY WHICH IS SO FANTASTIC IT CANNOT BE DESCRIBED JUSTLY. IT’S A MUST SEE. ABOUT 10 MINS AWAY BY TRAIN OR 20 BY CAR. GO TO "LEO’S" FOR THE MOST SPECTACULAR LUNCH IN THE WORLD.
