Was Right for the Price

My husband and I just spent 4 days there at the end of September and had a pleasant stay. I felt the location alone was worth what we paid. Walking distance to a lot of great stuff. We were on the 17th floor so outside noise wasn’t a problem for us. Inside noise wasn’t really a problem either though the walls did seem a little thin- but I know we had neighbors and could barely hear them. The rooms were a bit small but it was enough for the two of us (plus its New York City- space is always a problem). The beds were comfortable and housekeeping came to our room everyday. It was my 3rd time to New York so we didn’t use the concierge much so I don’t know how helpful/ not helpful he was.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Instead of paying $30 for a watertaxi to see the statue of liberty - take the staten island ferry. Its FREE!! ’Top of the Rock’ is cheaper than the Empire State Building and has just as good of a view- plus shorter lines. And try the subway if doing things during the day. Its $2.25/person to ride. Its WAY cheaper and faster than taking a cab. Doing the double-decker bus tour? Use the hop-on/hop off deal and use the bus as a taxi.
