Practical, but average or below
If you need to stay near the Milan train station, it is inexpensive and less than 10 minute walk. Hotel has clean appearance in lobby and restaurant. Rooms are large, but there were stains in the carpet and mold in the bathroom tile. Also, the kids stayed on a sofa bed which wasnt extremely comfortable. Front desk is polite and helpful; generally seems like a "tour group" hotel, with groups coming and going. The breakfast was ample and convenient, but the drawbacks in the room were unpleasant.
We took a half day city tour with Last Supper, Duomo and La Scala tours included. Saw and learned a lot and really enjoyed--kids too.

Really close to Centrale Station
I stayed here for one night with my son as a cheap place for one night before moving to another hotel by the Duomo (which was 3 x the price). I asked for twin beds but got a kingsized bed instead. To our surprise, our room had a multi gym, the room was huge and clean. The staff at reception were great and helpful. The bar area was ok, we arrived at the hotel about 23.30 and because it was Grand Prix weekend it was quite busy. There was only one bartender who was a little fraught. My overall experience although short and sweet as I checked out at 11.30am was pleasent.
Its a couple of minutes walk from the Centrale station.

Our 2nd Visit
This was our 2nd visit to the Una - we enjoyed it si much last time. For us, it was ideal as we wanted to travel to other parts of Northern Italy - which we did from the central station, 5 mins away. This time around the room did look a bit tired and would benefit from a bit of modernisation otherwise the breakfast was good, the staff were helpful. All in all a very convienient hotel which I can recommend to others.
Traveller's tip on shopping
In the month of August the area around this hotel is fairly quiet with many shops closed.
