Holiday Inn I 95 Telegraph Rd, Alexandria, VA

Pro: Very close to a Metro station and food/coffee/movie theater area (5 - 10 minute walk for both), friendly staff, items left in room (including laptops) were undisturbed during unattended housekeeping stops, free parking, short drive (15 mins) to old downtown Alexandria (lots of shopping areas, food, nice streets to just walk around) and right off interstate I-95. Con: Walls in hotel room were very thin (we could hear conversations from the next room and in the hallway which were thankfully infrequent), our room vent had a large amount of a black item which appeared to be either mold or a lot (!) of dirt, small bathroom with no other sink or dressing area in the room and the on-site restaurant, we felt, was overpriced for the items they were offering even after taking into consideration the high prices of the area.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

The rooms have a small ’frig and microwave. We bought bottled water and cans of soft drinks at a grocery store in Alexandria and kept them in the room. Drink prices in the snack machine area off the lobby were rather pricey.

Will Stay there again

Staff was extremely helpful with our reservation, and changes to our arrangements were handled courteously. Close to Metro station, restaurants, and free wireless was great!

comfortable and quiet

Hotel folks were nice and very friendly and extremely helpful. We stayed an extra night and booking it, even on a Friday, was a breeze. We were very close to the Metro station (walking distance)and not far from some great restaruants.
