Great Hotel - Great Location

We used the Palace hotel as a location whilst staying in Machester for a shopping trip. It’s location is dead central, just 10 mins walk to all the bars and restauants you could ever need. Lovely room, very grand, much nicer than some of the budget hotels and a cracking rate when booked through hotels.com

The trafford centre is 30 mins by bus from directly outside the hotel, number 250

An architectural gem in the heart of Manchester

This old Victorian former insurance building has been tastefully transformed into a comfortable hotel. We only stayed one night and were upgraded to an executive room which was very cosy, clean and spacious. My only complaint would be the parking which, although close by, is a bit pricey.

Close (walking distance) to the centre of Manchester and entertainment venues. Good local restaurants.

Slightly biased as was upgraded to a suite :)

Have stayed at the Palace before and the building is quite amasing. On arrival I was upgraded to the David Livingstone suite so naturally this review will swing more to the postive side. Big bathroom, seperate lounge, lovely bedroom with comfortable bed. The only down side about the suite was it was always a bit chilly. The old windows had been painted shut but there were still gaps around the frame that the cool air kept breezing in. I asked for a portable heater which duly arrived.

There is a charge of £15 per 24hours of internet use via a network cable. Look for unsecured networks by the window and you probably won’t have to pay the £15. I would have expected the free wireless access at this standard of hotel which I did get but not through the hotel.
