Hello 1980
The Hotel Zoo is ideally located on Kurfurstendamm a short walk to Ka Da We and Zoologischer Garten Bahnhof. I first staid at this hotel ten years ago and enjoyed my experience. Unfortunately the Hotel has seen better days and is desperately in need of rennovation and upgrading. Its Four Star rating might have been appropriate 30 years ago but not now. The room itself was very dated with awkward arrangement of fitted furniture a bit like a ships cabin. There were two twin beds laid out along one wall with hexagonal table in between. The carpet was badly stained and marked due to its age but, otherwise, the housekeeping staff kept the room clean. On the plus side, the reception staff were efficient and friendly, the lounge and reception areas were appealing. There has been a lot of hotel development in Berlin over the past 20 years so there are many modern and pleasant places to stay for the same price or less.
