Value for money
Although the hotel is not at the heart of salzburg it is easy walking to all sites. Mirabella gardens a few minutes away. Buy a Salzburg card these are invaluable if staying 3/4 days.It gets you into most sites free of charge. Try Humbolt, Zipfer, Stern Bar for good food and drink at reasonable prices

Great Room for the $$ PRICE $$
I was just passing through Salzburg for one night. Here are a couple of quick observations/comments: 1. The hotel was very close to the train station, which was very convenient. 2. It is right next door to the Crowne Plaza hotel - and if you need anything (taxi, etc) you can walk there. 3. The hotel staff was very helpful. They spoke English, helped me book a tour to the Salt Mine, and called a taxi whenever I needed it. 4. It is within walking distance of the major attractions (Aldstad, Mirabell Gardens, Hohensalzburg... etc) 5. The room was clean and very simple - no shampoo or conditioner (just some soap) and no iron (but it is available downstairs) - you can use free internet in their conference room, or purchase it for around 8 euro/24 hours. There are also hourly rates. 6. Breakfast buffet was sufficient - rolls, deli cheeses and meets. Good coffee... fruit salad. Juices. There are two nice cafes two blocks from the hotel.

Good value, quiet hotel in Salzburg
Hotel Markus Sittikus is a well-run, quiet hotel in the new part of Salzburg, near the theatre district and only a short walk from the old town. The room was comfortable and a very varied buffet breakfast was provided. I should be happy to go back and would recommend it to anyone.
