A bijoux hotel with a great sea view
We stayed at the Lato twice in the course of a two week holiday. The location is very central and the hotel has great views over the port of Heraklion, especially from the rooftop bar. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and other meals were of high quality. Our only slight disappointment was that one of the double rooms we had was a little cramped. Expedia room rate made the hotel a good deal.

Great views and location
This hotel is situated within walking distance to all the major sites in Heraklion(archeological museum about a 5 minute walk- do not miss, although museum is under renovation and some of frescoes not on display). You must get a room overlooking Venetian harbor. With a glass of ouzo, a piece of feta cheese, sitting on your balcony is a world class event. The rooms are on the small size, pretty typical for this part of the world. Free internet access!!

The staff was exceptionally gracious and helpful.
The setting is perfect, providing easy access to main streets of interest to the tourist. The view over the harbor is wonderful, and the rooms with balconies put you right there. The restaurant in the hotel, Herbs’Garden, is great.
