First visit to Scotland
Great location, the room had lots of character (Thomas Telford room - there was a bridge construction over the beds - honestly!!). As it was central there was a fair amount of road/reveller noise outside. Breakfast was plentiful and attractively served. Would definitely stay there again if I went to Edinburgh again.

wonderful central hotel
What can you say...the jar of locusts was a bit creepy...but the room was lovely, bed comfy, plenty of space and the windows block out 95% of noise (not including ambulance etc), for a hotel on the royal mile a 5 min walk from the tattoo it was a godsend, and the 24 hour bar for residents is a big bonus. I never thought the breakfast could be as good as the previous reviews stated...it was far better!! So far surpassed my expectations for a hotel im now spoiled!
right slap bang in edinburgh city centre for shopping, tourism, wandering about and great for checking out the festival free street shows - some of them through the window!

Novel experience
We found the Bank Hotel in Edinburgh a novel place to stay, with its theme room experience, indeed we enjoyed the Robbie Burns room and found it charming and informative,an unusual place to stay-right in the middle of town for the festival, we particularly enjoyed our Scottish breakfast which more than set us up for the day!
