dark, loud, overdesigned
Unpleasant would be the word I would use. In gorgeous Oslo, we entered a cave. The staff tried to be helpful, but they were understaffed. All the boutique hotels I have stayed at have a quirky atmosphere, but this felt desperate and cheap. And very black.

helpful staff
Found staff at Grims Grenka to be very helpful. The room was nicely designed and spacious. The rooftop bar was worth a visit. Good location and easy walk to train station.

A boutique hotel that needs work
Stayed at the Grims Grenka June 17th-21st, 2008. Overall appearance of hotel is stylish with beautiful lobby and comfortable rooms. However, service was deplorable, specifically housekeeping. First night, they took my soap away and did not replace it for the remainder of the stay (I ended up using shower gel to wash my hands). They refused to clean any of the mugs that were used for the in room coffee/ tea setup. Towels were not replaced, you simply made do with what was left over. I didn’t bother complaining to management: it was clearly an ongoing issue. Wouldn’t stay here again although I did like the room! (Bang and Olufsen TV was a treat even though the screen was small).
